Is it really beneficial to put content first in HTML code?

    Does anyone know of any credible reference (i.e. web page) that might help me to evaluate the benefit of putting content first in the HTML code vs having navigation links and other such things first?

    I've heard that this is of some benefit but not from reputable SEO sources. Mostly just hearsay and opinion.

    He means pages that are marked up to state what they mean. Such as using H1-H6 tags correctly to mark up headings, using P tags for paragraphs and so on. You can see (literally) what he means in my double-length post X/HTML Coding Best Practices.

    Yes it is really beneficial because the search engine spider can easily read the html text and hyper link and it is you easily monitor when you see the cache of any web page and click the text which is read by spider then you got your answer..
