I'm quite new to the domain business. I wasn't sure about this 2 months ago. But since then, I have had some good sales. So I'm convinced about the possibilities. Now I just need to expand my knowledge and sink my claws real deep.

Yea I've spotted some good (or what I think are good) open domains.

I just don't really know what to ask for if I sell them and if they really are good.

Can you supply some details about the sales? Were they established domains with traffic and search engine rankings or were they new, clever names?

These domains aren't bought. I've checked and they are open.

I have some fun with it and search for available domains. Problem is I don't know if I should waste the money to register these if they aren't worth the investment.

I could get them appraised but I feel aprehensive because some would take them (not all here at DP).

Getting the domains appraised is a step for sure to be taken by all doman-sellers,

afterwards people might think of optimizing the domains traffic, the best way i've seen around is post google ads for the domains, it'll for sure cost you some big nudgets but it'll be quite handy when you go out to sell the domain

other then that, you can link exchange with high trafficed sites or even buy adspace on big places such as namepros, wht, digitalpoint ,etc.

Its a A++ plus if theres a site that is established correctly, although people often tend to make their own use of it but often they don't tend to spend further bucks on it.

    Just one cent of mine,
    Hope it helps

    Regards,

    Thanks Zubair,

My idea would be to just buy good domains and sell them. I don't really have the time to develop them if I bought them.

    Would this still work.

Well guy just be sure domains that are open today can be gone tomorrow.
Nothing is a guaranteed sale either.
I've seen people with domains for years without hope of finding a buyer.
I'd suggest on looking through to see what kind of domains actually sold.
Never put up something on a forum unless you already own it, & depending on the extension make sure it fully resolves in the whois before announcing it.
I've seen people announce domains for appraisal that wasn't fully registered yet.

    Anyway good luck...

Honestly, it is very difficult to earn good money by registering domains and selling nowadays. If you do not have time to develop a domain, you can buy good domains once they expire.. through snapnames.com etc

The problem is the majority of good .com were regged a long time ago. It's not to say there aren't opportunities but there limited.

You might consider taking times to go at those big forums such as Namepros, DP, etc to find out what the people think is hot and which type of domains are they looking into getting.

Bragging won't sell your domains, Get them interested show them what potential they have and what it could make them.

When you're ready to go out and sell your domains be sure about the domain you're selling, put all your efforts because it won't be that easy as you think it will surely require alot of efforts and time for you to make it to the $xx,xxx range of the sales.

You'll need a 3rd party, that's for sure. Nobody will buy without a reputable company's official appraisal (Afternic, etc) and it helps a lot when you have a domain agent cutting the deal for you. They know how to deal with sellers, whereas common folk like us really don't.

Are people who seem to be making good profits selling names. Personally I have been trying to sell three LLLL.COM's for $90 together, which I think is a very good price, and I can't even get that to sell, lol ;)
