Hi, I have been browsing around the Content Creation section, looking at prices, and I am a bit shocked at some of the going rates. For example, some are willing to write 100words for $1 dollar, many for less....and I wonder how exactly does one make a living, or indeed any reasonable amount of "side cash" with that? In my experience, it takes around an hour to write a well researched, error-free, keyword-optimized, quality article of around 450 words. So that is what? Less than $4 an hour? Perhaps I am just rather slow, and some people can pump out articles in minutes?
Not everyone writing articles is from the US. There are a lot of countries where making around $20 US dollars a day is considered fairly decent.
In the web design industry, there are those companies that offer websites for like $300, while my company will charge 5X or even 10X that price. I really do believe, especially in my industry, you get what you pay for. I'm not saying we're the best, but we aren't willing to work for pennies like some of these other guys. But to tell you the truth....It sucks when you are selling something at a fair price, then someone comes along and whores out the same service for greed. There needs to be balance so everyone can make money.
