I think Hostgator actually uses green energy to power their servers. I know here in Pittsburgh the Children's Museum uses 100% green energy and the place contains some really cool interactive displays and robots and stuff.

I have a 42kW solar electricity array. Does that count as offsetting anything?

Is that what's powering DP?

Come on guys there should be a Green/Eco Marketing section on DP - it’s all about us all making changes without guys like me and you! How the hell is the message going to get out online???
We shouldn’t ignore what is a hot topic right now, and one that isn’t going to go away! Whatever anyone says!

Indirectly I guess... when the array makes too much power it sends it back to the grid which COULD go to where the servers are I suppose.

I have a ford excursion that gets 11.5 mpg so green probably isn't my thing (not that DP revolves around me lol).

But I get enough green from looking at this forum all day :D

    Two thing need to happen

The result of Copenhagen in December, and more importantly NSDIC must stop using DOD data.

Solve those two, and maybe, maybe Shawn will think about it

It's as simple as this: If you want talk about Eco Websites and Green Marketing start threads about those topics. If it gets to the point where enough people are starting enough threads about those topics for it to warrant it's own section, then Shawn will create a new section and move the threads. There is no point in arguing about whether there should be a section for it or not. The number of valid threads is what lets Shawn know that a new category is needed. Arguing about it is pointless.
