    Hi Friend,

Both are very important but i want to give more importance towards offpage, becasue in the seo back links are most important
so i offpage is the best activity comparative to on page.

You need to do both but offpage optimization becomes more important for more competitive keywords.

I think link building is good. But i think if you combine the 2 it makes you more higher and give you much authority.

I think everyone would agree that both of them are important, but IMHO, with development of search engines, on page optimization becomes more and more important, just because search engines want to provide quality content to their "customers" - searchers.

That´s why I would focus mainly on quality content (old but true - "content is king")

Off-course Both are important to get the good ranking and traffic but if onpage is not good then u never get the good ranking and traffic as well....so first onpage is very important

I do both but I focus more on on-page optimization. In fact, I only post back links to promote my site. The PR juice is just of secondary importance.

I focus on on-page when creating the pages and off-page once the site has been developed. I would say off-page is where it makes a difference =)

My ratio is simple 30% on page and 70 off page optimization. Competition is so high and your competitor is doing the same so you better spend time doing link building for various domains.

Both are essential parts of SEO and without one the other one won't deliver good results.

While no one knows the percentages, I think it's fair to say that off-page optimization factors (i.e. backlinks from relevant sites with the targeted keyword phrase(s) and slight variations as the link text) are THE most important optimization factors there are. On page optimizations, though, important, carry little weight in comparison. I would be willing to bet that off-page optimization probably carries 70-90% of the weight in how your page ranks. On-page optimizations likely carry between 10-30% of the weight.

Question: Is writing content included in that 30%?

I would think the 30% would have to include the content. You can probably think of it as the on-page optimization as the ergonomics of a car and the links as the size of the motor. For instance, if you have a Yugo with a giant 840HP motor, you would still zoom past a Ferrari kit car with a 100HP motor... if that makes sense.
