I'm not earning enough money yet, but I'm thinking that if I just had more time to develop content I will get there fairly soon. My question is, and I don't have an answer, when should you quit your job and start working 100 % online? Should you wait until you earn enough money? - jens -
Not only when you earn enough money, but when you earn enough money from multiple websites, in case something goes wrong with one of your websites.
You can quit your job when you have multiple sites + stable income from every site + your earnings are good obviously
You will know when the right time comes, one thing i will say to you though is start saving money now and put aside enough money to last you 2 months. Then you are safe for 2 months without a job, plenty of time to get off the ground.
I (almost) agree with 3rd rock, but I would say enough cash to support you for 3 to 4 months. Longer if you were not already earning money. Great to see another success story on the internet btw - well done
there's comes a time when you need to make a leap of faith. if you think you need more time to develop your site, how will you achieve that level when you are working full-time? maybe try saving up a good amount of cash to tide you over while your online business picks up.
He i think you should take both option, because regular income should always come. And you are talking about business. Business have always ups and downs. So according to my view don't do anything without collecting lots of money. collect money first to do both and than do it what every you think.
I'm saving my money, and reinvesting some. I have a steady income from my websites/blogs, but at the moment it's not enough to earn a living solely based upon this. The problem is that working full-time takes up most of my time, and I have a wife and two kids. This way it's hard to wait for the right time when it comes to the income - jens -
Think about it the way Timothy Ferris conveys it in his book, "The 4 Hour Work Week," What would you do if you had a stroke and you were forced to QUIT your job? What would you do if you could no longer perform your job function (because of anything...your deaf, blind, etc)? You would have no choice but to cope. Like many others have said here...you'll just know!
As I do not really, I am also currently working online 100% of my monthly income but also other good and I enjoyed his work. MisterSeller, I agree with your comments
hi Jens, i think, you have to make a plan to do that, and to do that you have to talk with your wife, telling her your idea! then both of you decide how much money enough for your family life, the less you need is better for your plan. after that, make your income per month from online biz cover the needs for your fam life, if you have 6 month saving, i think you can start your own biz full time
You're absolutely right. We've talked about it, but it's a hard decision to make. At the moment I have close to three month savings, and I'll keep saving until i'm ready ... on the other hand I'm not sure if I'll ever be ready. I have been working for the government for a long time. - jens -
Is it possible to go to part time for a couple of months which will free up more time to get your sites going AND then stop all together once you feel like you're ready? Just another way of looking at this thing..
Human being will never earn "enough money" and always look for more. I would suggest you to quit your job only when you have stable earning online.
Hi, I have resigned from my jobs this month (October). my earning from internet is about $3,000 per month since January 2009, I know at the time I can quit from my permanent job but I don't have any power. I got the power this month. I think after resigned from my jobs I will have more time, but many request for freelance jobs. I am enjoy with its (internet marketing and my new job as freelancer). My suggestion make sure your income from internet is enough for your life (you and your family). I can have house and car right now from internet earning. although I have enough money from internet, i have plan to invest the money to real bussiness because on internet there is big risk, we don't know when my blog or web be banned or attach by hacker or virus. So when we lost earning from internet we still have real earning from our real bussiness.
Wise suggestion cdbelajar! then choose a smart real biz that can give you residual income! are you indonesian? thank's
Hopefully you will realize it yourself when the time has come. As for myself, I'd stop working offline when I feel that I have enough of money that is flowing in with stability.
