Seems that we will forget everything that we studied at school regarding the evolution of mankind and the theory of Darwin! After 15 years of research between California university and Texas university (as far as I remember, I watched it on TV few hours ago) on a 4.4 million years old skeleton, the scientists came out to say Darwin was wrong.
I just searched now and here is an essay from Science mag:
    http://sciencenow.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/2009/1001/1

Good news is: my grand grand grand (...) grandfather was not a chimp after all! It is amazing how I feel that science is being rewritten! What do you think?

haha "that everything that can go wrong will go wrong?"

He wasn't exactly wrong, you seem to be bashing him for making a logical leap rather than paying attention to what matters, the theory of evolution.

how does it prove Darwin wrong?

the discovery still points at monkey-like characteristics of our ancestors....

This actually looks more like just another proof of Darwin's theories

it doesn't. it just says it may rewrite earliest chapter of human evolution. So it may reinforce the theory of evolution.

Humans did not evolve from apes, Both apes and humans evolved from a common ancestor. So the case may be that this ancestor is no longer thought to be Austropithecus Aferensis; exciting, but this has no bearing whatsoever on Darwin's theory of evolution through natural selection.

im still a believer of darwin's theories of evolution and natural selection - its just the most logical explanation

I know there are other views that are being argued more and more these days. I dont care if in the future they prove one way or the other, im happy to have been taught about Darwin.

I dont want to start any arguments, each to their own beliefs and not everyone has to come to the same agreement :)

Who's Darwin? Darwinism can't explain the origin of information. I'm not against evolution. But Darwin doesn't explain evolution.

If you read Dawkings, you will never find the math to backup the ideas. You can't use concepts like randon mutation and natural selection without doing the math. And you can't expect to know your origin from a boy scout...

To understand evolution you have to understand the origin of information.
