Wouldn't a Thank You Button be splendid for DP?

Like many already have said, the Rep button is practically the same as a thank you button.

 

I think you need to study whole thread once again.

 

I did and most of them said it's not necessary to get a "Thank you" button and the only problem is that the rep button isn't getting noticed.

Here is a thread where the OP has started a journal and i know very well that it is and will be an inspiration for most of the IMers - at least for noobs.But look at the guy's rep.Just a single blob????Most people are not making even a few hundred dollars only because they are not taking action.Now the above thread is a true inspiration for such people and look at the amount of reps he has got.Doesn't that imply people really do not feel like saying a thanks when they should have - IMO.

 

It's not like rep is THAT important.
It's not going to help you make more money or anything.
I don't see why someone should be mad at the fact that he has 1 "blob" instead of 2

 

If it was not important, the system would have been eradicated long ago. It has survived for so many years because of its purpose. You may not see the purpose but its like encouraging the people for their posts, ideas, innovation and many more.

Regarding you first reply, you didn't said anything new. Since you are new user here, I suppose you are trying to build your post count too quickly. Try to add quality answers to the thread, and if you like someones answer, rep him, thats the only way a suggestion is noticed by the mods and admins here.

Pity. I wonder how many folks don't even realize what that icon is for. Gotta admit that a balance does leap out at me and say "Rep!"

Probably the same number who think "Thanks!" posts are allowed.

Oh well no big deal someone will figure it out.

As for the thanks button, I think DP is too big for it. Might cause a bit of a problem if someone decides to spam thanks.

 

Maybe a smile and a frown face over there instead would be better?
