Ok so I've breezed through this forum and or though I am still relatively new to this site I'm wondering what your techniques are for converting your traffic. I don't want to push my business on here but I use a free business in a box stratergy which I think is great but, to get away from what I do as could be seen as pushing my business, I would like to ask you if you use videos to convert your traffic or give away free targeted stuff, maybe use affiliate techiques... I'm just wondering what people are doing to get the best out of their traffic!
Well heres the formular: Make a clean, simple template with one meduim sized sales point. Get good content and products that are fairly priced, use SEO online use article marketing, blog comments, forum sigiture links, if you have a product feed add it to shopmania and googlebase. Capture emails, Analize traffic seee bounce rate, where what brough them to the site that made them bounce, if your targetted traffics bouncing then usually the information they want is not readdily availble: Price what it does why pick you. Just a basic guide for you to start from.
The reason I would say opt in list bulding is that it's the best way to build credibility. So my main technique: 1. Offer a quality free product in the niche I'm trying to promote to get the opt in email. 2. Have a very good, high content newsletter that offers good information to the newsletter subscriber. 3. Identify the best products in the niche - sign up to affiliate/PPL programs and inform my subscribers on an ad hoc basis about them. A good opt in list is simply the best asset you can have in your internet business.
I have a clean, nice site, along with nice pictures, free tips to show them I know what I am talking about (I'm in dating and website marketing info.), and then I have the ordering form right at the bottom, waiting for them to fill it out. They do not go to a separate page for that. I don't do opt-ins, because they do not work. I don't do looooooooong sales pages, because they too do not work. And that's basically it, for the most part. I thought about using a couple of videos, because they would indeed work, but I haven't gotten off my ass yet.

If we talk about conversions (not about traffic increase, but about conversion) then i would mention 2 points: 1. The range of products to sell and pricing policy. I believe you have already chosen the niche (type of products to sell), so here comes pricing policy, so there should be some reason why customers will purchase products from your site (and not your competitors' ones) - that could be less prices or some special offers/bonuses/discounts,etc. 2. Usability of the website. The store should be well-designed, not have lots of annoying banners/ads, etc, have clear checkout process. Otherwise customers can leave the website, I believe anyone had experience when you like products, however the site is horrible itself, and you leave without purchase :-(
