Similar thread here ! You may want to look for answers in old threads before starting new ones. Just a suggestion! :)

Either put an ad in one of the freelance sites so an editor can contact you and after the payment list your site or find a "SEO" company that is owned by someone in DMOZ mafia and pay them for listing your site. :)

maybe for you will work one of most famous reply , will see it all over the forums '' suggest and forget '' never heard someone had really success with that , most of the time when I saw on public forum about new sites listed was let's say at least suspicious testimonials similar with testimonials from any sale pitch/oto pages lol .

Generally the time it takes to get listed in DMOZ is ranging from 2 months to even 2 years to getting accepted. Although it is “good” to be listed in such a trusted directory, it isn’t the end of the world but once you do get listed it is a very memorable moment. My tips are following their guidelines, submit your URL and forget. Another thing you could do is become an editor for DMOZ and get your site listed.

No one really has any GOOD tips, as it's all speculation... even the tips given by editors can be misleading or wrong depending on your category.

However, most can agree to one or both of the following suggestions:
    SUBMIT & FORGET
Submitting once to a category where the editor actually uses the queue/suggestion pool is all that is needed. They will eventually find it and either approve or reject it.
    FORGET 2 SUBMIT
Many editors do not bother with the queue/suggestion pool and find their sites through alternate means (forums, search engines, etc) and will list the sites they find 'fitting'.

Either way though, making your site the best it can be and making it worthy of ANYONE reading it by focusing on your end user is the best bet... that way, even if DMOZ will not list it, you'll find that not having a listing is a moot point....and if DMOZ editors are your end user, then you are liking doing something wrong, unless of course your site is ODP editor related ;)

There is no such limit as two years. Your site can never be reviewed at all. And that means never being rejected either.

Let me rephrase what I wrote. I only know of Webmasters that have had to wait for their review on DMOZ from 2 months to 2 years. 2 years has been their longest wait but there certainly is no real time frame.

I think it takes several weeks to get listed in DMOZ. I hope my site gets listed. I signed up two weeks ago.

Good question. try to submit to a category that has an editor and be patient. I'm not saying that your site won't be listed if there isn't an editor because DMOZ has editors that can edit every category.

You can also apply to be an editor if the category doesn't have one.

Don't rush take your time to find the right category for your site.

I have my name at the bottom of several categories, but it is often months before I get to look at them and then often not to dip into the submissions pool, so named editor means nothing , sorry.

It is also just simply wrong to say that one can offer to edit a category without an editor, one can offer to edit a category with any/many editors, we don't refuse people because someone is there already.

I applied about 6 months ago but have not heard anything. If they reject do they actually contact you to say why or do you just never hear?

Generally, you're not contacted if your site is rejected, or accepted.

You have made a suggestion, it may take years before it is reviewed for possible listing. The directory is for the benefit of people looking for information, we do not advise if a site is accepted or rejected, it is not what we are set up to do. On the whole if the site fits our criteria for listing set out in the guidelines, it will be listed when a review happens, but we do not enter into conversation about when, how or if rejected why.
