There are many tips in losing weight, but we don't know which one that really works. Do you have any personal tips, something that you know of that is truly effective, in losing weight?

How you look today reflects how you ate a month ago.

If you are overweight right now, stop eating one of your meals a day until you are on an eating schedule that is truly active only when you are hungry. The idea is, in a sense, to be "hungry" all day.

This is a very unattractive reality for people who try to escape the mathematics of metabolism and diet.

A LOT of what gets touted in weight loss about how diets don't work or that killing yourself won't get results is absolute fallacy.

Do you want to be relatively healthy, or look good naked?

If you want to look hot naked, you're going to have to put your body under the regiment where it thinks it needs to fight and continually upgrade itself for survival.

In order to do this you absolutely must have the discipline to push yourself beyond that which you previously thought was your limit. The principle of overload is how anything progresses. Those who read this and say, "it is counter productive to harm yourself when working out" are making excuses. Of course harming yourself will not get results, but don't ever think for a second that taking it easy on yourself will.

It is very simple; reduce how much you eat and increase how much energy you expend.

Easy ways to use your energy?

    Do yard work
    Clean your house
Make love (how it's supposed to be; tantra)
    Play a sport
Run with a friend and have a conversation (strengthens lungs, mental faculties under stress)
Stick to a daily core workout regiment (push ups, flutter kicks, sit up/crunches etc)
Join a gym (definitely for the motivation)

I just got so motivated I'm going to call my girl and go on a quick bike ride, I'll write more later

This list can continue; you just need to do what gets you sweating in the way where you know you're giving it your all and are loving the exhaustion.

Stop avoiding fat, and eat good fats (saturated fats mostly) and avoid bad fats as well as processed food.

    You probably meant unsaturated fats.

    trans(aturated) fats == very bad
    saturated fats = not good
    unsaturated fats = good

I have lost 65 lbs over the last year with 3 months off. The things that made the most difference are avoiding sugar and all fake sweeteners, exercise of some sort every day and adding in some weight training, and eating more protein and less carbs.

Well, I would say that play sports, keep your self active and eat healthy and green vegetables to lose weight/fat and grow tight muscles and a healthy athletic body. I have been playing basketball for 80 mins daily with my friends for 2 months now, and I have already started seeing my body fat reducing and muscles growing.

No, I mean saturated fats, and no you're assessment is untrue.

Go supplement with coconut oil (a saturated fat) and tell me how unhealthy you get.

My life turned a HUGE corner when I made the decision to have a surgical procedure called a "gastric sleeve."
It is not lapbanding. It is where they actually remove about three quarters of your stomach.

I was not grossly obese, but I did have a lot of medical issues and could not exercise. I was also severely diabetic. I was on high doses of 2 different insulins and 2 different tablets just for the diabetes.

Since the surgery, I have not had to take anything for diabetes, I have lost over 30 kgs and most days I can walk for about 45 mins.

I eat in one day roughly what I used to eat in one meal, but I do have to take multi vitamins as well (medically prescribed).

A lot of my other ailments are improved. I sleep better as my sleep apnea is settled and insomnia is better too. My asthma is much better controlled too.

To cut a long story short, the surgery "saved" my life and has improved the quality of it a lot.

Please note... they do NOT do this surgery just for weight loss.
It has to have other ramifications for your health as well.

    Thanks,

    Laurence :)

    find an exercise you enjoy
    do it everyday,
    but dont over do it

-most important is get better at it, because you will enjoy it more, which is the only way you will be consistant, only way any exercise will work.

i lost over 20 lb in 2 months playing ddr, at first i wasn't so good, and it was not effective. after some time of practice, i get better, it is still not effective, but when i became semi-pro, it lost weight fast. i did not play force myself to play so much each day. i keep one goal in mind - learn to enjoy it.
