    I have seen directories using WordPress as its base and with the right plugins coded for it, this can be done.

    I got unbanned again, no worries.

    Nima, I am afraid I don't recall those directories at the moment but I remember one particularly nice one which was run in WordPress....a jobs directory, if I recall correctly. The posts were the listings and the comments were reviews for the listings. If I can find it, I will post it here.

    reason for me to used wp as any application :
    1. Wordpresss is well known and trust able. (i don't said other don't).
    2. Easy to understand.
    3. Plenty of plugin.
    4. No worry abt ON PAGE SEO.
    5. SE love it.

    Frequent update was a headache before, specially with 2.6 version, unless you used a plugin like Automatic Upgrade. But as now Wordpress by default has option for upgrading automatically, I don't mind the frequent updates :)
