I agree with Giancarlo, I don't want to be the few (I hope) guys counting “units sold” I rather be counting - “lives helped by my product'.

I do not see business as a game to see how much money that can be gotten out of the “suckers” as some marketers do.

Because those suckers happen to have real families and real problems that want real solutions and are willing to pay for it.

I think you have the number one tip with one caveat. DON'T GIVE UP! Lots of business decided they have to close shop, give-up, whatever... If you ever get down and stop building, writing, advertising, etc.. you'll be dead. Not giving up is just as important as treating this like a real business.

 

I'm going to agree with this topic. The number one thing in every business is establishing relationships with not only your clients, but also those closest to you. Networking is the "key" to every success story, and it all starts with Building Relationships

It hit me in the head actually. Silly me. Perhaps I should rethink my strategy more and tune it up a bit, to treat it like it is my primary business. I do manage a web design and development business.
