Forum posting question

If I have a link as my signature and make 100 posts (over a long period of course), does this count as 100 backlinks? Or would I be better doing getting 100 backlinks from 100 different forums?

 

Of course is better to have 100 backlinks from 100 different websites.

 

100 backlinks from different IPs are much better than 100 backlinks from the same IP address.
100 backlinks from 1 IP are better than 1 backlink from 1 IP address.

As Zexy siad, links from same IP don't helps much, but having them helps a little bit. I suggest you to post on more different forums and get IP diversity..

One more thing...what about the PR of those pages? What if all the 100 links on 100 different websites on 100 different pages have UNRANKED status? Will it count towards good link building? I prefer finding out high PR pages in a forum and then posting in all of them. Posting blindly on 100 websites is not so good as it is by posting on 100 websites with high PR pages on those websites. What are your thoughts?

 

Is it better to have the link in your signature or to put the link in the post? What if you are an SEO company and are working with many different clients, do you have to set up lots of accounts in same forum with a different signature for each?

 

Oh, I never thought that multiple backlinks from same domain was a plus. It can't give you much points at all, right?

 

I did a test a while ago and found forum signatures are only good for getting your site indexed.

 

So, would I be right in thinking that the best strategy would be to do a few valuable and contributary posts in a forum then drop the link in where possible. Spending time posting in same forum just to get the signature link is eating time which could be spent building single links from new forums??

One signature allows for atleast 2 links. So yes, you can put only two links per profile, if that's the case. But that's not encouraged in any manner, having more than one profile on any forum. If they get to know, they may even ban you and your IP address.

 

It is not valid to open multiple accounts from same ip. But u can open accounts on different forums where u can use your different signature. On internat u may find lots of forums related to ur niche. So why u need to open multiple accounts on same forum?

 

Will counted but the link value will be very low.. bcz from same site...So try to participate in multiple do follow forums and keep posting daily in all..

Forums Posting – links from other quality forums are ok but it's better if you will get links from related forums.

 

Agree with renlok, as forum sigs are useless for seo... the only thing they are good for is traffic.
So if you find a busy forum in your niche than post links (but don't spam) and people will visit your site.

Google used to give more importance to links from high PR and heavy traffic forums like dp but the importance of links seems lost these days. It is better to get links from as diverse source as possible and give more importance to links from related niche and authoritative sites.

 

Thanks for all the good advice here. I think a few people misunderstood at some point. I was not advocating opening multiple profiles in same forum.

I think I will find a few related forums and get adding some contributory posts.
