Because it's a domestic pet and earned the title of man's best friend. Chickens and pigs are farm animals, even though i could never kill one myself, we need to eat somehow.

Chickens are popular as pet in my country, believe it or not, my dad have a few of them as pets, we build them mini cages IN the house and live with them.

You guys eating chicken meat is as offensive as people eating dogs, to us at least.

I think its because normally people have dogs as pets. And many people feel that their pets are like their family members. Therefore it is a little awkward

Yes, but dog-eaters in Korea/China eat their dogs, not American's. I think it's time America mind its own business?

Let me guess. You are from China/Hong Kong? Dogs are loyal companions how can you eat them.

And would you say from where you come from you also eat cats? Oh my.. .

But really, eating a dog? I can't even begin to picture instead of a big fat turkey sitting there on a platter, it's a poodle with polished nails.

But yeah like bhuvasona said, "Whats good in ur country is bad in myne -- vice versa."

This is the reason many people try to be vegans or vegetarians. I prefer not to eat anyone.

Well, in America we view dogs as pets. If a person from a culture that ate dogs was my neighbor, i'd be a bit afraid maybe (stereotypically) that if my dog got under the fence, it might end up in the neighbor's pot. It's the same as if a pedophile moved into your neighborhood and you had kids.

I have no problem with people eating thier own dogs, especially if they are in their own country. However, they cannot take MY dogs (if I had any) and eat them without a fight, especially knowing that as a Black man when I travel to East Asian countries I am treated like garbage.

We shouldn't judge people based on what they eat. It's just a culture difference. People are raised and brought up in many different ways. I mean think about it. Most of us Americans eat beef like it's nothing. However people in India consider cows to be sacred. We all need to keep an open mind about things, and start being less ignorant.

If you eat a dog, does your stomach growl?

I've already tasted dog's meat when I was young and it tasted pretty good. In fact, it's even tastier than pork. Dog-eating is a common tradition in many Asian countries. It's a cultural thing and is usually part of ceremonies. They don't eat it on a daily basis.

I never eat dog's meat. Dog was like a companion to me.. a friend..
a protector, the thought of eating them never occurred in my mind.
Now that this topic has been opened.. I just think of this scenario
Eating my own best friend and that was really creepy :(

Never had dog meat, but I know a couple of places where they serve it. For those that like it, good luck.
