Hi, I'm a bit confused. I myself feel Google search Tag: link:xyyj.com is unable to list all the backlinks to this URL/domain. A hyperlink with anchor text "Anything Else" won't be shown in the above search result. The link: search is basically a anchor text search. So, I used to see only 10-20 number of backlinks according to google. However, my webmasters tools shows, only my homepage has got 500+ backlinks. So what is the proper way to count real backlinks? I've experienced that many of those Webmasters Tools backlinks are nofollow. So they raise no value to search engines. How can I count dofollow backlinks? And what people (mainly domain brokers) refer to by, 'this domain name has n number of backlinks on Google'?
If you use yahoo site explorer you will get a more realistic picture http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.co...wm=i&bwmf=u&bwms=p&fr=yfp-t-105&fr2=seo-rd-se
I agree.. Yahoo siteexplorer , and only show links to the subdomain, not including it's own domain will give you a fairly accurate number. Alexa has provides inbound links. The problem with Google's link: method is it only shows "popular" pages that links to your site, not every page. Their webmaster tools give a more accurate picture of all of the links, but you must sign in and sign up for that for your domain.
No. I tried Yahoo Explorer too. It's just Google Webmasters Tools in other words. It shows nofollow links too. You see, I want to find all the backlinks with distinction - dofollow or nofollow. I got some sites who are doing this. But I need an authentic page to show - yes, I have this much of valid (dofollow) backlinks
If you need distinction, then the only place I know of is seomoz and their linkscape tools that keep record of that. You may have to sign up and pay, but it is well worth it if you are serious about it.
How old is your site? an old site will result more than a new site, and also G will not showing your all of your indexed page in link:
If backlink pages are having page rank 4 or greater than 4..then only google displays those backlinks Google shows only PR 4 + backlinks... try domainpagerank.com
Ha Ha Ha!!!! The funniest answer ever on DP Forums. I'm not a PRO, but not also a junior-school-student. I'm afraid that some people are walking faster than Google. Who says you about this fact? Any blogger, who used to write some PHP-Login Tutorials, or shows 15 good ways to get backlinks???
Sorry but this is not true! From 20 backlinks shown by Google for one of my sites only 1 is PR 5 and another one PR 4. All others have less than PR 4.
Hi buddy Go to the backlinks.com you will get all back links..I hope it will help you .I also use this website..
It depends on what you want your number of backlinks for. If you just want your total backlinks, then there are a ton of tools out there that will show them to you. (yahho site explorer, etc) BUT, if you wnat to know the quality backlinks that will count towards your sites Googe PageRank, then you need to use Google WebMaster Central. In google's "link" command, they weeded out (or tried to weed out) all of the useless backlinks that don't count towards PR (links with no follow, link exchanges, links from sites on the same IP, links form bad neighborhoods, etc). And they only update what you see with this command about once per month.
I'll second this one ... I find interesting social network sites and links from sites I would not see in G
I had recently heard that Google is offering a backlink tool for the website owners. The backlink tools helps them to analyze and generate more traffic on their site. I am not sure from where to get it but Google is offering ti for free. The tool gives 100% result of entire backlinks done from Google. The tool gives you result in CSV format which can be saved and analyze afterward. Here one thing you have to make clear that backlink does not means that your site carries more weight. Try to search for the same on google.
Most odd news ever heard about Google. It's not expected that Google will offer SEO/Traffic generating tools for promoting websites.
