Selling Highly Customized Forum

We have just finished building mybooksforum for a client, the client has now decided to go with another niche (which is good for us as we get paid to build another forum!)

The forum has been built with vBulletin (vBulletin license included with sale) and has been customized to the max.
The forum niche is a very good subject that produces high returns.
The forum has been optimized for adsense and also amazon (we will change these to suit the new owners accounts).

Basically the forum is ready to go and with a little bit of advertising has the potential to be a "big boards forum".
The client would like to try and recoup some of the money spent on this project, if the site does not reach a certain price we will keep it ourselves and promote it.

We are open to offers or start bidding!

Well, the money that our client spent on the custom skin would frighten you!!

However they will let it go for offers over 500 euros (which , by the way, doesn't cover the cost of vB license and custom work) however they are happy to let it go , with a vBulletin owned license, for a figure over this amount

 

Agreed, if the site's worth your BIN, people will be interested, if not then we won't bother.

Price is based on design only, right? Because otherwise it's a brand new forum that's empty with 1 post.

As explained, the forum has only just been finished so cost is based on cost of custom design and vBulletin license.

However we are more than happy to keep hold of the forum unless the reserve price is met.

I dont understand why your client is selling it through you instead of registering here and doing that himself.
Probably there is no client at all? or ran away?
who knows, the funny part is the forum home page message showing
"Any members that donate over €500 will have a "lifetime link" to their website on our home page and forum pages. "

Is there something we are missing here; is there some hidden functionality other than the free hacks/plugins installed? Don't get me wrong... the design is very nice and well layed out however it can easily be done and built into a vBulletin forum with a weeks time tops and would only be around $200-$350 outsourced and the VB license only costs $180.

I am interested in the site however I find your asking price to be a little over the hill.
