There are 4 stages to this:
    1) Your site first needs to be spidered by googlebot
    2) Your site then needs to be indexed
    3) Finally, you need to rank high enough in google so that searchers will find your site
    4) If your site does rank high enough, are people actually searching for your search terms and if they are, will they visit your site.

There are no specific times for 1, 2 and 3. It might be a matter of weeks before you actually appear in google's index. Ranking highly is another matter and will take longer, depending on how competitive your search terms are and how well you've optimised your site. 4 is dependent on how well you did your keyword research.

It could be a matter of weeks if you're targetting high search / low competition terms, but they are hard to find so it may take longer.

    How long is a string?

As soon as your site is indexed, and you achieve a ranking that searchers will find, and a searcher searchers for your the keyphrase you rank well for, and the searcher then clicks on your result, THEN you will see hits from Google.

you have to wait a lot longer to see any traffic from google, msn is always the first to deliver traffic.

Not always. I have a new blog that within 2 weeks was receiving 100 uniques from Google alone while MSN was only delivering around 15-20. Keep in mind this was on a fresh domain as well.

May I suggest google site maps. It's a beta program and fairly easy to use as long as you can upload the sitemap to your web directory. I have not tested it extensively but it dramatically decreases the time before new sites get indexed.

one day to 6 years. Google is flaky these days, so it's getting harder to predict.

If your content is a straight duplicate content of text from amazon, that perhaps others have also duplicated, I think it might not be easy to rank very well...at the very least I would suggest trying to add a bit of a personal touch, perhaps read a few reviews and then summarise them?

Very relevant domain name, 100% original content with good use of keyword placement, but not stuffed. In addition, I placed several key backlinks to my site and submitted to a handful of directories.

If your interested in knowing what site I'm referring to: http://buy-wii.net
