    Just wanted to see what the norm is for search engine traffic. Mine runs between 11% and 15%.

    About 80% but I enjoy high search engine rankings and don't have a site targeted to teenagers (little viral traffic).

    This is quite a spread - is there a norm? The bulk of my traffic comes from type-ins - visitors who have bookmarked.

    Just wondering if I should be shooting for a higher percentage from search engines.

    I get about 5 - 6% from SE's and other from sources like Wiki and some high quality backlinks.

    Depends of the content. On some of mine sites 95% comes from the search engines, but for instance at online utility Awstats shows only about 10-11% come from SE, 51% direct access, and rest about 38-40% from backlinks.
