    That may be true, but Twitter is so full of spam and people promoting their own products, services and affiliate links that everyday people are paying less and less attention anyway.

    The noise level on Twitter is so high that it is almost impossible for anything meaningful to make it through and a mistimed Tweet most times will never be seen since they are updated at once and not individually.

    I don't care how well you target, Twitter is just one big glorified spam and self promotion text messaging platform. I estimate based on the 5 accounts that I have, where I targeted very carefully, that 80% of the people on Twitter today are not interested in anything except promoting themselves.

    yo check out sites like twitteradds.com you sign on add people and then they add you..like a point system thing. I got like 600 people last month from it but i dont really go on it that much so you might be able to get more idk. just an option for ya!

    If you use twitter for promotion then find people related to your industry and follow them, as a courtesy they normally follow you back. (especially if this is a company profile). Nice and simple

    I think if twitter changed the way the tweets show up (i.e organize the tweets if you are following million people) it will help...

    There are those things to follow people and they will follow you back, but I mean thats all about getting alot of followers same with facebook getting alot of friends.. in the end, whats the point? To get popular?

    You want people that will follow you for what you tweet, and for the companies on there trying to promote in every tweet they have, aren't going to benefit them. It's better they tweet about things that will help others, and then promote here and there.

    I've found Twitter to do fairly well in gaining some followers. Keep posting, and increase people you want to follow. It's a compliment that you want to follow them, so they usually follow back. It does take a lot of time to do this daily.

    You have to spent almost 24 hours to get over 5,000 followers. This is a waste of time. If you need traffic from social bookmarking sites, you can try digg or stumbleupon, twitter is good, but if you have spare time. :)
