zup? quick question sorry. anyone often practice turning your pc to hibernation? is it a good habit or what? i'm xp sp2. this is a new machine baby. i got the details down but i'm just doing a survey so. yea
i am using my laptop for about 5 years now and put it in hibernate more often ad till now i haven't got any problems and also when i put into hibernate mode it gives me a more backup also
i think hibernating is good. coz it can prolong your laptops battery/life. also for pc's it takes the life span of pc's further. i have made some google search for it. my old pc was about 8years old. lol just a thought yea it's old lol
I hibernate all of the time. I have only had problems with a very few programs that didn't handle hibernate well, but there were not really end-user programs, but system level security programs. I live by laptop hibernation. On some of my computers at home, I schedule them to hibernate at certain times of the day/night so as to save power, CPU/powersupply fan life, etc.
I also like this way.Mine has used for two years and pretty good.Maybe I'll change a new one next year.
If you won't use it for several hours, I think you'd better turn off your PC. After all, there is some other loss except for energy loss. While if you will use it within a short period of time, it is much better to let it hibernate than to turn it off.
I use hibernation. i think that it increases the battery backup of my laptop and I have had no problems using it till now. I am currently running Vista Home Premium.
I think use Hibernate is good for save our time while start the computer. More memory RAM you have will make hibernate process become more slow and it will take the harddisk space as big as our RAM. It's usually save at C:\hiberfil.sys.
Used it a lot before but now turning the pc off works better for me, but Hibernation is a great feature better than stand-by for me...
