    I have 2 websites about a particular health product.

    If I take the content from both sites and join them into one mega website, then delete the site I just duplicated the content from, so its now offline..does google somehow still think its duplicate?

    Or, is it only duplicate content if both copies are online?

    I wouldn't think it is, but I wanna be sure so I'm not wasting my time here.

    It may be duplicate content until the old site is completely de-indexed. I believe you can request that in Webmaster Tools
