Hello My website has reached alexa ranking of 200.000, I am fighting to get to 100.000 on their ranking in 6 months or so My question is, how much can someone earn (roughly) on those alexa ranking. PS: Placement of ads and Contents is a big facts, I think
The thing about Alexa Rankings is that they can be manipulated with purchased traffic. Marketers used to browse Alexa for up and coming sites but I think many are getting wise to Alexa and it's stats. Check out some of the online directories many submit their sites to. You will see that many of them have a Low Alexa score under 100,000. (low score being better) Then research their actual traffic. I think you will find a big difference. As for selling ads, if you are not getting a good click through rate on the advertisement on your site people will not renew their placements with you. So make sure that the traffic you are getting is good traffic with a low Bounce Rate. As for pricing, that is going to depend upon your market. Check out your competition with similar traffic rankings and see what they are charging. Then you can go a little lower on cost to start off and contact the people that are using your competitors sites to advertise on. Good Luck
alexa ranking is not reliable at all and sometimes it can decieve you by a long shot. the ranking they show doesn;t represent the traffic, not even close. check your analytics and focus on increasing your traffic
Alexa is completely meaningless. If you want a more accurate ranking service, try: quantcast.com Get your site "Quantified" by signing up and inserting a javascript snippet in all the pages you want tracked. It's free.
Cant estimate the earning based on the alexa ranking. The earning basically is depend on the number of click and the cost per click
Alexa ranking is not reliable as other members already replied coz it count only those users who use alexa toolbar so dont worry about alexa. (who know alexa BTW)
I think Alexa is just one parameter we take into consideration when we think of advertising our services on a website. Apart from Alexa, I check website page rank, rankings for some of industry keywords, traffic from search engines, RSS count in case of a blog etc
Alaxa rating has nothing to do with AdSense. If you have a forum with decent activity you can always get under 200,000 but wont make money. Check how many UV you receive per day. More visitors means more money.
Alexa is a reasonable place to start when trying to determine how much an advertiser should spend with you. But that doesn't matter for you since you are using adsense. Further, like everyone has said, Alexa rankings aren't all that great for a number of reasons. I would just focus on how much traffic you get every day and go from there.
