What is the best to do when doing forum marketing - using a link to a article/video then direct them to landingpage or product - Direct linking to vendor - direct linking to review-style landing page?
Join the forum and become a regular contributor and post relevant links to your content. Posting links, especially with affiliate codes, is lame. Drive-by posting and other similar tactics will also yield limited results. If you want to market to forums properly and get good quality traffic, you need to become part of that community and contribute.
I would suggest sending them to a squeeze page or CPA offer. Or maybe some lowcost ebooks I don't really think you can get them to buy more expensive products like 37-47$
Most forums are for people looking to either learn or contribute, not be marketed to or sold. You would have to be a top tier forum member, meaning years of quality contributions, in order to have a remote chance of using it as a selling platform.
I wouldn't try to market your site from forums, as other users have stated, forums are for gaining knowledge not to be sold on something. Submit your site to directories, get bloggers to write about you, that's the best way to success.
Just make sure you use the proper forum category... buy, sell, trade, under.. business. Then you should use a landing page of some sort. Try a video landing page. Where the video is built into the landing page. Best of luck!
I would just suggest you use the signature to promote for you it's allowed on almost any forum there is on the entire internet
Join a couple of good webmaster forums like DP forum here, have a link or two in siggie with catchy title and contribute to the forum. In time curious members will check out your link's. That's simple forum marketing without spamming on the forum. I agree with what Loco has mentioned already.
I'm just going with what thread creator has posted already. Hopefully we will get a response and well give better info. Personally linking to a very good landing page works best for me but this my own opinion. (i use PPC half the time)
