    I don't think any SEO Expert will work for salary.

    Probably, you should edit this thread as

    - Experience,
    - Average Earnings/month
    - Reside city

    It seems like everyone these days call themselves an SEO expert. This field is filled with those who don't qualify. I don't think you can get clear pictures on experience and salary of a real SEO pro.

    The real SEO pros are hard to come by. Some charge $500-$1,000 an hour, which they well deserve. If you calculate their salaries based on those numbers, they make a lot of money.

    But in reality, beauty is in the eyes of a beholder. They only get paid that much when some companies truly recognize the value of their SEO service. So, some SEO pros may charge $500/hour, but they don't have enough clients who are willing to pay them.

    Most of the very good people work freelance, no one that is an "expert" is going to work for a salary from a company

    Yeah, I agree totally with "mpls-web-design". Everybody is taking themselves as Search Engine Optimization Experts. I know that there is no such degree, but ask yourself;

    "Can you bring up a website in top 10 of Google for "Viagra" or "Insurance"?
    If Yes, then you are a top SEO Expert! :)

    Since "Real" SEOs with real experience and deep knowledge can make much more on their own, any full-time position would need to pay on the order of 50k to 200k per year, and sooner or later the SEO expert will leave the company to start on his own ventures, otherwise he is no expert, if you can make millions, why would you make them for someone else :)

    I don't think a job just in SEO exists - you'll also be doing the company's SEM, webmaster duties and many other things.

    wow, $500 - $1000 per hour? that was a huge amount of salary for our country. SEO services are now begun and in demand to our country and i think if that was the real salary of an seo expert, some of the seo expert that work here doesn't give enough salary from their respected company.

    that's true.

    most of the good ones start their own ventures...sooner or later.

    getting traffic for own sites is always more lucrative than getting traffic for someone else's sites.
