the reason give by Cricket Australia is that he wants to conentrate on his test match and ODI career! So, we may see a little more of him in the other two formats...

however, Ponting has said that he will continue playing in the IPL!

all main players of cricket team are going and it is not good for the whole team. Thats why they are getting defeat by ordionary teams such as new zeland.

Hmm... I think its a correct decision. T20 games should mostly be played by younger players as it involves different kind of strategy. :)

Well, I think its good that he retired from it. :D

He should play ODI and tests only now. :) As he is good in them.

Me thinks he is trying to cut down on cricket matches to prolong his career and focus on Test etc.

He really wants to play in the next ashes and get it back after being the only oz captain ever to lead teams losing 2 series

His form would have to improve as he is getn old now already to warrant a place in the teams
