It's not a bad thing, I mean better safe than sorry. May be an inconvienance, but I'd take that over losing my life.

Its great measures. I agree, but i won't want to check in my laptop, you know what i mean.

The luggage crew dun particularly handle with care most luggages.... my baby laptop ain't gonna survive those bumps and hardcore chucking!!

Do u think i can bring the laptop into cabin with the clear plastic bag??

Police have foiled a plot to smuggle explosives in hand luggages, which would have detonated while the plane was in flight.

    LOL!

Next line of BS yet to come -
Computer equipment containing a wealth of intelligence was seized.

    What it really was -
Someone searched on the internet for red mercury

"mass murder on an unimaginable scale"

Nice way to be over dramatic! I think it was quite imaginable - so imaginable it was planned for months and nearly carried out!

Thank you Tony Blair for making our lives a hell. Because of your policies, we have to constantly live in fear here in London. Its OK for you to go and enjoy a nice holiday in the Carribean while the rest of us live in fear. Its time for you to go.

I'm sure the airlines are over the moon at that, I guess it's time to sell your BA shares now ;)

I wouldn't kick Blair out for that, that's letting the (real or imagined) terrorists win. I'd get rid of him for his apalling record on law and order, health and education. Also the insane 'human rights' laws that seemingly only apply to criminals rather then their victims. At least Mrs Blair QC is on to a winner with all the human rights cases she gets to work on.

    On another matter entirely,
    what was Tony thinking?

I think your laptop would get knicked before it got broken in the luggage hold!

So whats going to happen when terrorists realise a way to weave explosive material into fabric and wear it in their shirts and slacks? Fly naked!?

Hmm think its time I hit up the gym

And if you like a conspiracy theory, look at the chart of the AMEX Airline Index since 18.30 london time yesterday. Did someone have prior knowledge of today's terror unit/police action?
