    Don't need to pay anyone.

If the keywords are adwords (as per your signature), it's normal. They are competitive keywords and you need SEO + backlinks + time = getting on top.

You need to do more than your competition. If your competition / competitors do 3, you do 4. That's the way.

what did you do to promote your site. have you done any link building? u need to analyze your competitor's sites to see what kind of content they have and how many backlinks they have from what kind of source. once you have that intelligence, you can develop a link building campaign and word accordingly. having a website up for 4 months and being indexed wll not get a sites ranked. you need to build backlinks

Thanks for all the responses the site is not in my sig

On the google webmasters forum someone has seen that the URL was registered before I bought it and used as a gateway page. I had no idea about this and looking to see if the misuse of the URL as a gateway is to blame I think by two companies one in 2002 and one in 2006. I bought the URL in 2009 with no knowledge of these.

If this is a problem I will post a response, will be good to get to the bottom of this

Looks like you are targeting some high competitive keywords. You are going to have quite the hill to climb before to get to the top of the serps.

I'm curious as to why you have comments shut off on your blog. Commenting on other blogs and allowing them to comment back is a great way to build back links. Most blogs allow you to enter your URL when posting a comment. Do this will allow you to use your competition to your advantage. Make sure you comments are quality though so you don't get marked for spam.

    Good luck

I would recommend you to choose some less competitive keywords or some keywords on local niche at beginning and do backlinks on them. After you get a good result, you could turn to a higher competitive ones. :)
