http://thecouncilhouseexchange.co.uk is a council house exchange and home swap community for council and housing association tenants who are searching for a mutual house exchange within the United Kingdom.

The website is a forum based site that uses phpBB3 for the members side of it. It also uses the aMember Membership Script to manage member accounts.

The Council House Exchange currently has 1662 members, of which 472 are paid members.

The website has the following payment options:

1 Month Membership - £2.99 (recurring monthly payment)

    3 Month's Membership - £5.99

    6 Month's Membership - £8.99

    12 Month's Membership - £11.99

    Lifetime Membership - £14.99

I am currently earning an average of £590 per month without promoting it, with promotion the site has the potential to earn thousands per month.

I personally know another council house exchange site owner who earns in excess of £20,000 per month! So the potential is there.

The reason why I am selling up is because I just don't have enough time to manage the site, I have recently started my own web design business which is taking up all of my time.

The site gets an average of 5200 unique visitors per month and around 17600 page views.

If you are interested in owning this site then please place a bid at http://flippa.com/auctions/73876/Council-House-Exchange-Membership-Site

    All the best,

    Ben Brooks

I am very seriously interested in your site but you never answered my question(s) on flippa :)

Please reply, I would like to discuss buying it but I need to see stats and proofs and if you can grant me access to aMember with a limited account so I can view the stats it would be great.

I am unfamilar with creating temporary limited access acounts with amember so I would rather not at this stage.

    Hi Helvetii,

Traffic has fallen because I have stopped promoting due to lack of time for running the site.

I have recently started my own web design business which is taking up all of my time, hence the reason for selling the site.

So how much effort will it take for the new buyer to maintain the atleast $1000/month income? And also what kind of efforts are involved in promotion?

The current income is from recurring monthly subscriptions that are already active.

I was promoting the site with PPC but I stopped my campaigns so that I could use the funds for investing in my new web design business, with proper promotion the site has the potential to earn thousands.

My brother-in-law and his wife own ukhomeswap.co.uk and they are currently earning in excess of £20,000 per month.

So the potential for the site is huge!

I would be very happy to keep the site if I just had more time to maintain it which unfortunately I just dont have.
