I'm all in favour of a category for myspace related sites and accounts.

"Should myspace sites get its own category?"

Well is it a fad or a major Web 2.0 mania bubble?

I (don't like m_space, but) do vote "major Web 2.0 mania bubble", so IMO it seems to deserve it's own section.

    Agreed.

Perhaps a turnkey section is isnt a bad ideal.

    Consisting of:
    Proxy sites
    Arcades
    Myspace sites

Yeah I haven't seen a that's not non-turnkey or "made to sell" site in a long time....

Since sitepoint started charging $20 the turnkeys and crap sites are flowing here like lemmings!

I think all these myspace sites for sale is just because of myspace starting to go around demanding people relinquish their use of the word "myspace" in their domains or on their websites. So people are dumping the sites.

I bet after a lot of them are sold that it will die down. Might take a few months for that to happen though.

I don't think we are talking about sites with myspace in the name ... but the wider area of myspace related sites whether they have the word myspace in their name or not. And that, I believe, is a longer term issue.

    Oh. True.

Although I think many myspace-related sites that don't have myspace in the domain name may still have problems if they use the logo, etc.

But you got a point in that Myspace can't really get rid of 'em all. There's always going to be fan sites.

I think this sums it up very nicely.

In my opinion sites that fall into the following category should be in a seperate section.

    - Myspace sites of any kind
    - Arcade sites
    - Proxy sites

It's not much of a problem to just change the logo.
