Let's say for a certain keyword, "blah blah blah" I'm on page 1 in Google, but at position 9. If I were to buy some text links from PR7, PR8, or even PR9 (if that's at all possible!) would my position be better than a 9 ? And, how soon would I see the results if that's the case? Has anyone done this ? What were your results? Thx Sam
Yes, it does. SEO is a combination of several little factors, and Links is one of off page factors that help rankings in the SERPS.
A proper link strategy is probably the first necessary component of search engine optimization.. on-page optimization (including url and title) is a close second. Of course different search engines weight each differently... MSN seems to be high on links, Yahoo considers on-page factors more highly. Google is a toss-up (changing every day seemingly..). Eric
If you are place 9, and buy a text link with good anchor text on one of the top20 in the same results as you, then it definately gives a boost.
"Google is a toss-up (changing every day seemingly..)." That's how Google set itself apart from other search engines
Im sure it will , however dont forget the dampening factor Google gives to each new added link to prevent text link selling . It will at least take one update, maybe even longer to see that backlink to appear as a backlink and still then you cant be sure whether the page is parsing its full pagerank or just a percentage of it.
Yes it help to index your site quickly. But getting good position in SERP overnight by link buying is not that easy. You might need low PR links, links from different scale sites, old links and many other factors decided you SERP. if you buying links for SERP, think it twice and plan for long term, Don't buy just because your competitor does.
a tip: dont by text links per month it wont really help your serp's if your going to buy a text link to improve your serps do it for the year
So should you only buy links from sites with a higher PR than your own? Or is there a minimum PR to look for before you buy links?
I have had much positive experience with buying links it's pretty hard to single out that it was those links that I purchased though. It's just what I feel helped give me that week's bump. I've also found the links that I purchase to always show up prominently in my backlinks. I usually like to get a few from a high pr on topic site. Sometimes they will get you traffic from clickthroughs too.
Our target is about $1000 a month for links but that is for high quality relevant links. So my demand has actually exceeded the supply for my industry. I probably spend about 600-800 a month for all PR5+ mostly 6 and 7 some sitewides about 30 unique sites with 3 sitewides on 5000+ pages and has really helped in a competitive keyword.
I would also recommend buying links only for a minimum of 3 months. Anything less will be a waste of money.
If you buy links from the wrong folks or submit to too many bad directories you can do more damage than good.
look at your competitors above you...and see who they get their links from...if they dont have pr9 then you probably wont need it either... i personally would rather have 1,000,000 pr1's (should get me a few visitors)...but thats just me
The funny thing is that webmasters openly talk about buying and selling links on webmaster forums then wonder why Google drops them from the index and ask why Google continues to shake up the SERP's. Some webmasters do not believe that Google can tell if they are spamming with purchased links also. This is all real funny as Google reads these forums in real time as guys wonder then ask how they can buy and sell links to get higher rankings PS: Get rid of your signatures if you guys engage in this conduct on open forums.....
all I can say is good luck with the upcoming algo changes if your strategy revolves around buying links. If you rely on quick fixes then please don't come in here a month from now crying ALL MY RANKINGS ARE GONE, I HATE GOOGLE
People have been buying links on the net since day 1. Google's whole buisness revolves around people buying links from them. Paying for links whether for SEO or advertising will be around for a long time to come.
