What is the best way to Increase blog traffic

Ive done Seo and I automatically ping services like pingomatic. I have also created a site map and created an archive page. Ive had articles on digg and have been stumbled.

My blog is brand new and is doing fairly well for the time I have had it up (about a month or two). I want to know what I can do to get traffic to insane levels like 10k uniques a day. Currently I get about 1000 to 1500 uniques a day.

Any advice would be appreciated

 

1500 uniques a day is pretty good. I'm sure if you continue writing useful articles and submitting them to digg you'll get an influx in traffic. Similarly if you purchase a small ad on a big site like techcrunch you will get similar results.

1000 uniques a day is excellent for such a new site, congratulations.

I've been working on my main blog for nearly a year and it's now getting just under 10,000 uniques on a daily basis. Traffic comes from the following sources:
Search Engines (primarily Google): 60%
Direct: 15%
Other sites: 25%

For a new site I'd recommend trying to get visitors (and links) from other related sites, which will also indirectly improve search engine traffic. To get links from other sites you need to meet 2 requirements:
1/ They've got to know about you. You can do this by leaving meaningful comments on other blogs and I also find quoting and linking to other blogs is a great way to get them to check you out. (I always view sites that I see have linked to me in Technorati)
2/ Be worth linking to. This is where quality original content really helps.

Once you get established you'll find traffic and incoming links continue to grow naturally provided you keep adding new and original content.

 

Thanks dct I know I need to give it some time to get better search engine rankings as you stated 60% of your traffic is google traffic and i get virtually no google traffic atm. I guess its just a waiting game while i build my backlinks and content.

 

Just keeping writing, the traffic will come naturally.

Yep, just keep doing what your are doing.

You mentioned backlinks so I'm assuming your doing things such as posting comments at other blogs and posting links to other bloggers and making comments about their postst on your blog. These can add traffic to your site especially when the other blogger recipricates the link.

 

Article submission generates most of my traffic in the early stages of a site or blog. It also raises the linked sites in SERPs. Eventually most of my traffic comes from Google SE. If you have articles ready written start publishing teasers with the minimum number of words then add a To Read More of this article CLICK HERE link...

That said, 1000-1500 visitors a day immediately is excellent

 

I have nothing to make your traffic more but you have many tips to share for such huge traffic you have got in the beginneing.Please share your views.

 

Something you may want to start thinking about doing is building back links to every post you create, so if you are creating one post per day you should take that link and post it onto Twitter, FaceBook and other social networks. You could also use article marketing in order to build links to each post but this can be a little time consuming.

 

Start building more natural back links by blog and forum commenting.
