Chewysmom - Despite not personally feeling that your logo is slick enough, you are one of the most popular submissions in this contest. The lighthouse with the RSS-like waves of light/information got people talking. We think the logo is fairly complete now, but are still worried about typography. Also can you remove the gradients on any text you do? It gives a nice lighting effect, but we want clean, bold, strong, and modern, and we worry that gradients will prematurely age the look. The lighter blue is the one we like better by the way. So if you could just try a variety of fonts (maybe serif for the Bruce County text and keep it sans for the Intranet (not Interanet) text please. CandeGM - While its a bit too stylized, and web 2.0-ish, I really like your concept. Especially the one with the ring around the planet (the flat arrow version) and the text as well. I am not sure about the Bruce County font, but the Intranet font is nice and spaced well. renderwork - The example given second row, right hand side looks great. Could we add some space between the letters in County so that the B and C don't touch. Otherwise, it looks great. willhaynes - Your concept is my personal favourite, but I am having to convince others in the office why. Your lower case text looks great, especially if we could do it with the blue and grey though the lower case "o" in County looks strange for some reason. Other than that, I think you shouldn't fiddle with it too much. zyndtel - Interestingly enough, you are probably second for me and second for the office, meaning that if we can't agree, you might end up being the winner, so don't let the fact that you are second get you down. The letters in both versions don't look to me like they line up. The U and R look like they are different heights in the word Bruce. Also can you try a lighter grey for County, and a flat white background in your example? gipanuhotko - The word Intranet looks amazing, though I think a font color switch might be in order. Making Bruce County the blue and Intranet the grey, so it is not so distracting. Otherwise, I think you have a really interesting concept as well, and are high on our list. MantisArt - The colours, and fonts look nice, but the logo doesn't really work for me. I like the pinwheel, but it just doesn't feel like it fits with an Intranet. LogosByCloud9 - Smart move going for the lighthouse look as well, and while your lighthouse mostly looks slick, the top part looks amateurish and strange, and the typography leaves much to be desired. I am worried you don't have the typography skills to pull off what I am looking for. Neonic - I feel like I've seen this logo before in other places, for other things. Almost makes me think of a sports tea mor something. It looks amazing, the blue might be a bit dark, and it is weird that you highlighted County (rather county looks highlighted in the white background version, and the final logo will be used on a website header that has a white background.) Devan_007 - It is interesting, but the giant arrows off the ends look kind of odd. Also, I am still not a fan of your typography. You using Times New Roman or something? The text has to wow me as much as the logo. Try shrinking the arrows way down so the focus is more on the interlinking. jokomamamita - Not too sure about the weird shape trying to eat the star, but the rest looks great. I love the colour block with the white text. I love the red and blue. I'd love to see the Red text bolded and the blue text not, because right now it feels really heavy on blue. Maybe try making the coloured box black or grey as well, to see if that helps. Not sure what to say about the actual "logo".
Thank you for the feedback. I hope there's a second prize. The letters leveling is in the default font but I custom adjusted it. Here's with revisions.
This contest is now closed. I will be posting the final results and feedback soon. Thank you again to all that entered, I really appreciate it.
