    Just as the title says.

Let's assume that I am targeting a specific keyword with a minisite - that keyword is "blue widgets".

    I can either have BlueWidgets.net or BlueWidgetsPro.com

    Which is better for SEO?

You can further assume that I don't care about how memorable the domain is. I just care about SEO and more specifically Google. I will do whatever I can on my end to fully optimize my site for "blue widgets" but I know that I can get an advantage cause of the domain (especially at the beginning).

I know that in general .com would be better. I have tested it and I am sure. I just don't know if it's still better when you can get your exact targeted keyword on a .net.

Please only reply if you know from experience. I plan to invest a lot of money and your replies will really make a difference!

    Thanks!

Well domain extensions have nothing to do with SEO, SEO is all about making your website search engine friendly providing useful and quality content little bit of on-page optimization and lots and lots of quality links.
