Oh man, only these are not helpful to get more traffic,
Twitter, blog comments, facebook, Article submissions, directory submissions and getting links from other sites are really helpful to get more and more traffic directly as well as via serch engines.

Personally, I haven't had much luck with squidoo and hubpages. The traffic I get from article submissions to ezine and articlebase convert quite well, but a lot of the traffic I get from squidoo and hubpages are from the hubbers and squidoo users themselves. On the other hand, I do have two hubs that are ranked number one with yahoo and on the first page with google and of course the traffic I get from those two are better than the ones that just get viewed within hubpages community. The thing is though, if I'm gonna SEO a hub to rank well on the serp, I'd much rather spend that time and effort on my blog or on article submission. Besides, hubpages and squidoo have way too many leaks. I'd use them for the links, that's about it.

 

adding to what nadeen has mentioned: yahoo answers is also a method.

Only this 3 things can only bring small quantity of traffic.Directory submission ,forum posting ,blog commenting,article writing can ensure continuous stream of traffic for a long time.

 

Yups you are correct, We can add orkut groups, yahoo groups, myspace too to this list,

 

Placeing text ads also helps a lot.

 

social bookmarking helps as well

 

These are great tips, even though these are the most common, and almost everyone knows about these, but you can't blame someone for posting tips that help. I don't suggest Twitter because people really won't sign-up for your niche if you're constantly just saying " Hey, Get a FREE Xbox, etc.. "

 

BY posting ur url to social bookmarking sites, traffic can be increase.

 

The most important is constancy.
