I make websites for years and they always became dead sooner or later... Marketing never worked... Submitting to google there's no problem...it will index hundreds of pages...giving some hits per month... Some main keywords on yahoo or google will deliver traffic too... But thats all there is to it... Stumbleupon never gave a single hit no matter what i did...nor digg or any similar service...
Define interesting... porn? gambling? chicken fight bets? I cant say i have a site atm...but i would like to not make the same mistake again (i rather do nothing at all)...
Interesting; not niche-wise. As in, is the site, generally, interesting? i.e. if you happened to come across your site, would you stay and browse? Recommend it to a friend?
He has a point. You need to keep working on your sites. Eventually traffic will die out of you dont keep promoting them. It sounds like to me that you have given up to early. What have you tried to do besides search engine optimization?
You know, everyone here had or has the same problem: the sales are too low. But some people keep reading about marketing techniques and submit themselves to the Trial And Error process, and some won't. So where would you want to be?
Keep promoting them, adding new content. People and search engines will be coming back for more if you update your content regularly.
You need to learn the basics first. Just putting up a site will get you no where fast. Find people with a problem and sell them the solution. Do your keyword research. Build a site around the solution and keywords. Really isn't that hard, but does take some work on your part. Good luck, Zeek
Well its actually so normal in the online industry you are not alone dude cos I have a site which also needs more attention..
Keep your content fresh and relevant! Don't give up the second traffic starts to slow down. Do some solid research before starting and you may see some results. Preparation is a key to success!
I'd have to see one of your sites to give you an honest review. If the site looks like slop, is covered in flashing banner ads, and has irrelevant content than it will most likely die out. If it looks professional and has good content, then we can probably give you some pointers.
I know what you mean. I couldn't get results untill I found www.copyndream.com it won't make you a millionaire but will give a steady income.
You can't market anything probably because you don't listen to the ones who know what they are doing. They will tell you to advertise, to get word of mouth going. You listen to the ones who don't what they are doing. They say to do seo, work on your content, Twitter, social networking sites, video marketing, signatures.... You would rather take the easy methods because they are free, easier to do, and more popular. But these are only popular with the inexperiened who have dead sites.
Any topic can be interesting if you're passionate about the subject. Spend more time with the website content and promote it those who are highly interested about the topic that you're talking about
