How can I safely sell one of my websites?

I received an email offer from a guy offering to buy my site. He offered me about 1.5x my annual earnings as his best offer. Is that a fair valuation? The site is growing but quite slowly.

How do I cover my bases here to ensure he's legit? He claims to run this website:

    http://www.yarie.com

His website looks professional enough but it has absolutely zero discussion around the web, which I find suspicious.

Should I go through Paypal or are other methods safer?

    Thanks guys.

For large amounts PayPal is nowhere near safe.

If you do go through Paypal, make sure to call this person and verify their land line number.

How much are we talking here?

Well, NEVER just ask someone to send you money.. Always send a money request to the person when it's dealing with this much money.

There is no 100% sure fire safe way to ensure they won't do a charge back through PayPal.. PayPal is very unsafe because if someone says "oh I was hacked" they'll automatically get their money back.

The amount he is offering you I think is quite good. You just have to find a way to be sure of the transaction.

Its value what somebody will pay? I trade a business year previously, and it was tough to set a cost; dealers like prescription, but buyers don't seem to. It's very tough to evaluate domain names and sites. Most of the information about similar sales is not communal. Don't sell it reasonably, except you want to be free of it. It may have unrealized ad possible. You aren't putting in a lot of attempt to make the most of it. All that said, it strength be valuable to sell it to somebody who will uphold it in a satisfactory method.

I heard escrow is good for large amounts ;)
But, I've never used it so, I always used Paypal.

I have been recently contacted by Yarie to buy my site as well... whilst in the end they didn't end up making an offer, my site might have been out of their budget range or not their sort of thing, I dunno. Anyway I got to chatting with the guy and now I'm trialing their ad feed on my site so I'll let you know how they shape up and if they are legit.
