What if the internet goes Down Completely?

OK internet has been growing more and more everyday and more information pumped into it.

What do you think will happen if the internet goes down completely.

There would be no Facebook, no chatting, no forums or anything.

Is it possible.

 

I am an internet addict so I guess I will go through withdrawal symptoms Oh well life goes on afterwards.

 

It is not possible in my opinion but if it happens,the world will got stuck.

 

The most important is that much silly questions will disappear.

 

The only way that this is possible would be so catastrophic that the internet would be the least of your problems.

 

is it possible that ppl will stop asking silly questions?

 

I don't see how its possible, unless the earth gets blown up, if that happened, i don't think there would be any use for sites

what about virus that bring your computers network down, attacks that bring servers down.

worms that reproduce itself and transfer to new networks. DDOS attacks.

virus made with infinite loop which can't be stopped until the computer breaks down with heat.

 

It's possible. There was a doctorate dissertation a decade ago on how to do it that got clamped down on by the US government. The student raised a big stink about it because the college he was at couldn't provide enough security cleared professors to do his defense against and he couldn't get his degree.

If you think about it, it happens all the time in certain parts of the world. Many countries only have a single uplink to the net in general. Always hear about countries losing their connection due to a storm or their wire being cut by undersea fishing.

 

There is a funny episode of South Park where 'all the internet drys up' called Over Logging I think it's in season 12.

People lose a lot of work information. The news stations have difficuilty reporting the news. Online relationships perish and Randy becomes so sexually frustrated because he has no internet porn.

 

I am so addicted to the internet that I would be a basket case if I couldn't check my email 20-30 times a day on my Iphone.

 

A lot of businesses would suffer too. Almost every thing is done online now a days.

The day that happens, I hope I have sufficient canned food in my cabinets to survive for some time.

 

It's not going to happen but in case if it happens then i will get hell lot of time to do loads of other stuff that i don't/can't do as i am full time Internet user + lover
