Heard Google is going to stop countling links

I heard from SEO guys that google is going to stop counting links, instead it's going to check only the contents.
Anyone heard this news ?

Well you heard wrong. Link manipulation is harder to do then stuffing keywords.

 

Yap I heard that news and I observe also that it is no easy to get backlinks for Google. And I am still wondered on how they calculate links as backlinks? Some SEO Expert you need to submit your link to a do follow link and not to a no follow link. Is no follow does not calculate it as backlinks? A lot of questions?

 

I have also see this news some where else on the web but i think it is not going to be true. Building Google indexed backlinks is not an easy task.

that is impossible - how can that give us a relevant search result?There is no other way other than the factor of no.of links - but yes,many other factors also exist and they might take a little more importance [like maybe bounce rate can give us little more data about a search result for a term].

This is like saying that the web can live without the HYPERLINKS - Is that possible?not at all.

 

Yesterday, i chanced on an article on Seobook.com that talking about linkbuilding. They wrote:

The answer: Sorry, but link building is still going to be the SEO trump card for the foreseeable future.

And yes, i totally agree with this answer.

I dint hear. But dont worry. It will never happen . Becos quality back links are much important to find quality site.

 

Those 'SEO guys' are either high or useless or maybe they're both Or maybe you heard wrong. On page factors are much easier to manipulate than backlinks that's why things like meta tags don't count in ranking anymore.

I don't think it wil happen, then it will be very very hard to be for them on the search engine market, If that occurs, Bing or Yahoo will secure the 1st place which is being secured by google now.... I am sure about it.....

 

Good. The SEOs that suggested you that G is going to stop counting backlink, they soon are going to look for another profession. Good for rest of us.

 

Backlinks will always be important... I guess what somebody meant was that they will give much more weight to quality links. Just my guess but it makes sense.

 

Although i doubt this will happen, I can see the advantages. If google only ranked on quality of content then surely spammy and content stealing websites would loose rank. Also people gaining backlinks by black hat SEO techniques would lose rank. People might just focus on writing quality content. Of course there are negitive points to this method.

 

Yeah, I highly doubt Google would stop counting links. If they did, it'd probably be a lot easier to rank.

 

They have no reason to mess with their algorithm so dramatically. Sure, if bing/yahoo start to creep in on Googles dominance then they may want to consider reworking it to provide more relevant results. At the current time, all it could do would be alienate searchers by making keyword stuffing more effective and irrelevant results more common.
