Hello everyone. I have been working on a few different designs for my personal website that will be the future home to my blog/portfolio. I don't like the colours you have used, try to use some dark colours instead yellow and purple, like dark pink, and a little bit of grey.
The colours are fine for a daily entertainment magazine blog. The purple rounded corners for "Archives" and "Link Dump" look out of place, after using so many squares. Just use white-on-black headers with the same black-on-yellow links below. Cheers!
I happen to like the colors that I have now. I can understand though that some people might be taken back at first because it's not the 'norm'. But if they're too intense then I might have to tone it down a little bit. The footer needs a lot of work...it doesn't match at all....don't even look at it. ywp, thanks for the tips on the rounder corner parts. I felt like they looked out of place as well and thought they would need to be worked on some more before everything flows together.
