Which mass directory submissions have you used which brought you ranking improvements? Any names / recommendations appreciated!

    Cheers,

lets you manage your directory submissions, both paid and free. If you prefer free, you really need to mass submit to see any kind of results. If you prefer paid, then be very carefull with which directories you choose.

I have noticed a few directories have switched to paid directories. Let's see where this goes.

    hello,

in Search engine optimization, that Directory submission is basic method of off Page, for that you need to concentrate on main directories only which has good indexing ratio and also good page rank, because if you can follow this directory then you will get boost up in ranking.

Yahoo and DMOZ are the only directories where I see a "major" difference in rankings.

But deep linking directories can provide a lot of value to you for links to the internal pages- this seems to be working as opposed to directories that link to your homepage.

Directories used to be a very powerful technique, but they've been greatly devalued. Like everything else in SEO, a little bit can be helpful, but I wouldn't go overboard. To the ones above, I'd add Best Of The Web, and one or two others.

Not sure automated submission to free directories does anything but paint you as someone who will take links from anywhere, at least at this point.

    Just IMHO.

I know people who can submit your site to 1000-5000 directories at very low cost... I Bought packages for my site and they give great links for a new site...

Are free directories a viable SEO tatic these days? I've heard a lot of negative thinks about free directories.

You need to submit your site in directories those have good PR and some top most directories such as dmoz.org. Once you will do this you will get more backlinks and they in turn increase your page rank and link popularity.

Nonsense. They give a ton of valueless links that Google barely notices. Are you under the impression its still 2005?
