DLM, If that's sarcasm then I feel sad for you.
    :(

Life is much more satisfying when you can be proud of your work. If I didn't take pride from what I did I would have retired back in '97 when I sold my first business.

Ok you've stumped me. It's as if you have a staff of writers that do the work for you and you rarely check your sites? Is that what i'm gathering correctly from your post?

    1. Do you make a new website on a daily basis
    No, lol.

    2. what marketing tools do you use?
    Related sites in my niche.

    3. do you blog comment
Occasionally, not for SEO purposes but to actually add value to the conversation.

    4. do you social bookmark
Occasionally, waste of time though if other people do not see fit to bookmark it anyway.

    5. do you write 20 blogs in one day
I write for a couple nothing like 20 though.

    6. do you outsource everything
    No, quality is the key.

    7. do you linkwheel
No, worst idea I have ever heard. Waste of time on a short term activity that will be negative for your site in the long run. See above use related sites in my niche.

    8. how many hours do you spend in front of the computer
    Way too many.

    9. do you contact webmasters to link exchange / buy a banner / sell banners
No, too busy. The ones with quality sites probably are as well. Use a service like BSA.

    10. do you make videos
Not currently. Time consuming and unless very good will not bring much traffic.

    11. do you check your stats hourly
    No, see wasting time above.

    12. do you write articles / outsource articles
    Yes write articles.

    13. do you write press releases / outsource press releases
Social media and related sites as per above.

    14. do you have programs that automate stuff for you?
Not really, automation programs won't produce quality.

    15. do you rewrite web pages / blogs you've already created, for better SEO?
I keep if loosely in mind when I first write it. Rewriting equals waste of time.

    16. what sources of income do you have: adsense, affiliate marketing, banner ads on your websites, non-adsense advertising, your own products.
    Banner ads and adsense.

If people would make decent websites that had a point and weren't just crap sites with poorly written material with keywords, sure they'd make over $5,000 grand a month. If you can get yourself into the hands of the dumbest of the internet marketers (iJustine, Mashable, Scobleizer, and Chris Pirillo), you can get anywhere.

I know I'm in the same league as you all are, but I'm tired of seeing the same websites being advertised here, people trying to make a quick buck off websites that people have very little interest in. You can make a personal blog, get some of your friends to link to you, and you'd be just fine. I have a personal one that gets about 500 unique posts on EVERY post, and it's just me blabbering on about stuff. I don't even like promote it except on my little Twitter page that has like 22 followers. Stop inflating the internet and actually make something that's not only decent looking, but has value. Getting those big PR7-10 links are HARD, but learn from someone who's actually gotten one that they don't come to you by doing nothing. Make a good website, with EXCEPTIONAL content, and plug it on your forum signature, aswell as your Twitter/Social bookmarking, and the right people will come across it eventually.

But honestly, don't expect long lasting results if you keep putting up trash everywhere.

It's a solid argument, but I'd rather take the easy route, work 2 hours a day and make that $5,000 per month. I'm just too lazy to continue working on one project like that for months and months (or years and years as the case may be).

I appreciate everyone that has contributed to this post. It's refreshing to see the gamut of people's approach to, what i think is, the same goal, make money online, or work from home.

So far we've seen the net jockeys, on one side of the spectrum and on the complete opposite, the conservative business value tycoon. Neither one can call the other one wrong, and they all have their points and values. I will take away from this the sense of value, with the notion of aggressive marketing.

Idler made some very nice points. There are guys out there, I won't name names, that are making a 6 figure income from complete drivel. I was directed to them from someone that was like "omg you haf ta see dat site, he makes so much monies" So with hushed tones, I clicked on the link and gave a blank stare. I don't get it. How are these guys making all that money off of trash?

Some of my blog posts looks like print straight out of better homes and gardens [ probably one of the most beautiful magazines I've ever seen ] with 1500 words all poetically put together for a fast read, leaving the reader refreshed and enlightened. But, let me put up a blog that mentions the words "rap music", or "diss" someone in the blog post, here comes 100 people per second to read it. And, the traffic is from weird places like "bait and tackle" "pickups and gun racks" "KKK sheet cleaners" "The Hamptons Beach Chairs". I can't believe they were waiting on the edge of their seat to hear me talk about rap music. And, I refuse to believe that both someone named Jethro as well as Thurston Elliot Williamson the III would both be reading my blogs.

I don't know what the moral of that story is. It's all from my brain so i can't continuously talk about rap every blog or a sex tape. Nor can i ramble on for an entire week, about absolutely nothing, like the above mentioned millionaire bloggers. Some of them don't even proof read their stories. I just don't get it.

    [i think I'm rambling]

Well, yeah, and people have to realize that even though we do have all these SEO tactics and e-books that show us how to make money, it really all goes down to being able to use word of mouth. This is why one of my ways of advertising is to do Twitter RTing (which is in my signature), it's in their face (via @replies) and you only get the people who are remotely interested in it. I have this one personal account that is all about RTing people's experiences at concerts, and if I really wanted to, I could advertise a concerts tickets site. I almost have 1,000 followers in just like a month or so, and only about 10% are bots. I'm ALWAYS on people's #FollowFriday aswell, and you know, a lot of Twitter users HATE RT bots because they think it invades their privacy.

Laziness doesn't get you anywhere, look at some of the people who have done so well by just plugging their MySpace pages and blogs on the internet... Lily Allen, Perez Hilton, iJustine, and all them. I have friends in pretty high places myself (they write for the NY Times, Guardian, the guys that work in some of the online music retailers and blogging platforms, and others that are pretty big in the media), and I often get replies about some of my blog postings. Maybe it's not great for you all, but I'd love to have a journalism job one day, or something in the music and technology industry. I have connections to people that reach millions of audiences everyday, and those people have helped me realize that it's not all about posting affiliate links and money making schemes, but rather how you present yourself on the internet, how you interact with your audience, and the content you present them with.

One day Google is going to get the lawsuit that's going to FORCE them to get rid of adsense for good and I'm pretty sure that when that day comes, most people on DP will go, "What do we do now?"

...says the guy with Adsense dentistry ads showing on his Twitter blog...

I doubt that day is going to happen anytime soon. I don't really use Adsense myself, but the more you make wild predictions like that the less professional you sound.

And I don't really understand how you preach all this quality content stuff - and then your blog is shameless promotion of a pretty amateurish tool that costs $5. I'm glad you have all the answers, but looking at the link in your sig, it sure doesn't look that way...

"adsense only and no income yet."

HAHAHA! Then why you posted there if you don't have income of $2k+/month ? Well, but that pretty much can be the reason why you don't earn it)))
