    How about illustrating the various ways people abuse SEO for their own personal gain while polluting the Internet with a deluge of spam sites in the process? (Or even spamming other sites in a pathetic and ultimately futile attempt to increase their search engine rankings.)

    I'm not sure how many people in your college would have even heard of SEO.

    A basic article, IMO, would be the way to go. What SEO is, why is it relevant in today's world ( with a practical example) etc etc.

    Start off with explaining why people learn and use seo, (basically free traffic)

    And define seo, i.e SEO is to help google index the site

    Do you want us to write it for you? How much are you offering?

    You could do the research yourself, you know. Alternatively, you could generate relevant questions and then interview someone (giving due credit where it applies).

    Pretty vague mate... what is the focus of the magazine and whats the tech knowledge level of your readers? After you know these answers you can figure out how to present SEO to your audience.
