    You will get banned only if you do things google doesn't approve of and get caught. The number of links may not matter. But if your links are shady and you are outranking the type of people who will file a spam report then you will get banned

    see there is so much false information flying around here. Google will not ban you if you get too many links. That is ridiculous. What if your site is wildly popular and gets lots of links real fast??? Google's going to ban your site? NOT

    1. Google engineer matt cuts has clearly stated that nobody will ever be penalised in any way for incoming links, as you can never have control over them. In other words, incoming links WILL NOT get you banned. 2. Try comment kahuna to find do follow blogs.

    Yeah, it's possible, but that seems like over kill. If you got 2 million anchored links, you'd dominate pretty much anything.
