Way to bypass internet speed?

What I'm looking for is the "illegal" I pay for 1 MB, I get 2MB, etc.

Bear with me - I only plan on being legal - read on.

I'm wondering because I'm trying to get my full speedtest speeds on downloads. I get green smilies on utorrent, and, like I said, full speed on speedtests: 1mb/s and .25mb/s - downloading, however, I get maybe 100kb/s - why the difference and how do I get my full 1mb in download speed?

I read that there's a patch to leave more than 10 ports [sp2 is supposed to limit to 10] half open which could help [leave from 50-100].

    Any experience/advice?

Furthermore, if I have a single download that's 75kb/s, it makes everything else slow [pages loading, etc.]. This shouldn't be if I have 1mb incoming connection, correct?

The more you paid, the higher speed you get .
2M speed for single user is already very fast .

    You're probably confusing b and B.

It depends on the speed of the server of the site you are accessing and the number of users online.

In the UK, your speed is set by the device and equipment at the local telephone exchange. The speed will also depend on several factors including line attenuation as well as other variables. There is no way to effectively gain speed/bandwidth allocated to you without hacking into the servers etc.

You get exactly what you pay for.
Your are probably just misunderstanding what you get.
If your internet connections is 1 (MB) MBit instead of (Mb) Megabyte that means that you can download with 100 kb/s or so.
If you want to download with 1 Mb/s (= 1024 kb/s) that means you have to get a 10 Mbit connection.

This is a common mistake, internet connection providers use MB because this way it seem a much bigger bandwidth.

You mean they use Mb. Because that's how network speeds are measured.
