Directories submission?

Does directories submission work? Is it OK for Google or can they penalize my site? I would submit my site to free directories.

 

Directory submission works fine for me and this is my main promotion technique which is giving me desired results. You can submit to as many free directories as possible, but should not use software for submission.

 

using semi-automatic software (input captha code manually) for directory submission is fine.
Directory submission is useless for me. I submitted my blog to over 700+ directories but i got nothing.

 

normally how long they take to get us approved?

 

It varies from directory to directory, it could take 24 hours, it could take a month, it may never happen!

 

That stuff doesn't fool Google anymore. Best not to waste too much time on that.

 

No link is bad in the eyes of Google..If it were so, all it would take for me to destroy your site would be to submit your site on all porn sites..

Google either adds value or zero value to any inbound link

I dont see much from linking on directories.

 

yes it work great and we need just time. but directory submitter can solve the issue by linking us to thousands of web directories that i prefer to be indexed by google. using one of semi automatic directory submitter is a good choice because i can choose appropraite category and sub-catogry.

 

when we talk about SEO, I think each backlink worth. There is no difference in directory submissions. If you can get a link from a directory, there is some value in it. But some people tend to submit their sites to large number of directories over a short period of time. In that case there might be some after effects if you try to get lots of links over a short period of time.

If one link on an article directory = 1000 and 1000 equals x being the average

Then one link from a link directory = 1

So x = 1000 X 1

You'd need 1000 link directory links to match one decent article directory link.

 

Directory Submissions us a very useful method but remember only do it manually, Not any automatic software.

I guess it all depends on the directory in question. Most free directory are useless. Paid directories are usually better promoted, advertised and better taken care of. When you submit to directories, do some searches on the directory itself to have an idea of where you are submitting your site to.

 

Directory submission works if it's done properly. You have to ensure that you submit to good directories that are getting indexed regularly.

 

Stick to high pr directories. There are plenty of lists available for free here on DP. It takes time, but try it. It won't hurt.

Directory submissions are useful for generating back links to the sites.They should be done manually rather than automated submissions. The acceptance rate and the quality of links developed by manual work are far more better than automated.

Its always better to go for quality rather than for quantity.

Yes, directory submission is the best service in seo. i am also submitting directory for my website , but you should submit manual way and it will become more good as a back link when you submit PR directory.

 

I have to agree with the above comments. With all the websites I have, doing directory submissions has been the only effective method I have used to get backlinks and ranking.

It is very important to not waste your time submitting to low quality free directories and instead get your website into high quality paid directories because those are the only ones which will really give you your results!

 

I never use directory.I think i should try.

well , i heard about free and paid directories .What are the benefits of paid directories over free directories ? Can't we only depend on free directory only ?
