What's the best way to check the number of backlinks you have?

    I have been using different tools to check the number of backlinks my site has but all of the results seem to be drastically different.

    I have checked alexa and I think that they are completely wrong since they are saying that I only have 13 backlinks on a site that is 1.5 years old.

    I have the "SEO for firfox" plugin going. Is there a way to check with that? Such as something specific to look at?

    Thanks! I just gave it ago and it seems pretty descent, only thing I noticed is that there was no PR given for any of the site that had a backlink in them. With 248 backlinks I would assume that at least one site would have PR even a 1.

    Yahoo site explorer is also a good way to check the number of backlinks your site has.

    I'm yet to find a conclusive one that I like.

    I like link voodoo as their site evaluation is pretty apt

    I have the SEO for Firefox plugin also. Just go to a site and select the "SEO xray" option. You will see the number of backlinks, and you can click the number for details.
