    I had a bad experience with Western Digital eons ago, and I'm still holding a grudge. But I don't think brand names really matter anymore.

    I use Seagate drives, because at one point they were the quietest. I've also got a couple of Barracudas from the 90s that are still going strong.

    Currently its better to go with WD as the newer version of seagate drives are having many errors.

    im stick with WD. Choose for the high range per minute like 7200rpm.

    Seagate is the brand of my choice and it never created any problem for me. Maxtor is the second best bet.

    Seagate. I've been using this since 98. I've left it to rot when i received a laptop gift and when i tried using this seagate disk again, it still work.

    For me, best brand for computer hard disk is Maxtor Quantum Atlas SCSI. It will lasts for 9 years with 10'000rpm.

    I think internals hdd would be Western Digital

    I use WD and Maxtor on my pc, both are running well, my MacBook is using Hitachi, one of my client is using IBM server with 4 Hitachi hard drives. So I don't know what is the best hard drive brand :confused:

    I've been using Seagate(IDE/SATA). I really don't have any complaints using this peripheral. :D
