Which freelancer site to choose ?

    Hi Folks,
I am looking to hire/outsource services for link building, SEO, blog commenting etc to promote my site. What freelancer services site can I trust to get quality work done. Only options I know off are Getafreelancer, Odesk, elance. But I read many of these sites service providers have fake reviews (of course helped by the sites themselves).

Any suggestions or pointers will be appreciated.

    Thnx

I've used getafreelancer a couple of times, and had great results. Using the escrow system, no-one can scam you and run with your money. But you're right, you should always be careful:)

elance only, well, maybe guru.com as well

both of that have real pros, sites like scriptlance, rentacoder, getafreelancer are a piece of shit in that terms
they have strugling amateurs who will work for peanuts.

GAF IS NOT THE BEST - it's total BS! That's why btw you didn't win your project.

You should buy membership there in order to show that you are serious, then be very specific to project and with competitive price. And skillfull too.

But...if you are so you better go to elance:) lol

i have personally tried GetAFreelancer and got some great results there. Scriptlance was good, but the Bidding system is wayward there, i mean if you know that if the worth of a project is $100 (i mean for a moderate quality work) u can even get people bidding $10 for it also. i was scared for quality so never actually tried it. but yes GaF is pretty good. Elance is good, but never tried it

depends on the job i would imagine.

Ive had all my coding and outsource work done by guys at rentacoder.com and never had a problem , but i hear some people mention issues with quality.

I think if you are very specific about what you need with a detailed speak you can find a great coder there..

I prefer Elance because the projects have a higher budget and you can get more money for your work.

I did a few projects at Getafreelancer too but most of the times the rates are low. Of course, if you need the money and you are willing to work for lower rates too, it is a good site.

My recommendation is Elance. It is the best freelance site with great projects that are well paid.

I am a freelancer and always frequent freelancers.net and freelancer.co.uk

But it's not the sites you need to be trusting, it's the users. Just be cautious - there's a LOT of crap out there (most of them hang out on here...).

Don't trust people that can work for less than £10 an hour

Don't trust people that you cannot speak to over the phone

Don't trust people who have bad english and have an aire of unprofessionalism about them

Be warey of outsourcing to foreign suppliers. I've heard so many bad things about Indian suppliers, for example, though I'm sure there must be a few good ones.

    Hope this helps

Good indians don't work for low rates as well. You get what you pay for.

Just had closer look to GAF, I was a member of RAC and thought it became to crap, cause when I registered it have about 50000 coders, now it have more than 260000 - so competition is very big.

    But....GAF ....

    "With 953,549 registered users,
for any job you can outsource, we've got the talent."

OH MY GOD!!!! Close to million bastards! And you ask how you can win project ? It's probably easier to win a lottery and GAF staff will not care about it, just like RAC, SL and similar. Business model created so, they will still make money cause some established coders still win 80% of jobs. And sites will make money.

Elance for example have less than 100000 (it was about 180000 but they cleaned BSers). With about 25000+ projects monthly, got the math ?

    Also from GAF

"Over US$40,736,600 has been spent by our users to date. " Wow, wow, wow, divide that by number of projects and coders and you will get peanuts still to average coder.

RAC even poorer, just about 4-5mil for lifetime.

    Elance - solid $210mil.

    Anymore questions ?

I see my requirements from the POV of an employer (I am looking to hire service providers)..Of course I am looking forward to pay lesser but not at the cost of quality..

I checked out Odesk but it seems it deals in hourly rates only which I am not comfortable with. I am always prepared to decide a certain amount for a certain project, not hourly.
