I'm sure this has been asked before,
but, I havent asked it :)
Who here has used & paid for manual directory submission services?
Please dont reply if you are an actual provider or friend of one.
    I want genuine appraisals, testimonials.
    Thanks.

    Go to the buy,sell,trade forums.
    See links for sale?
    Services?
Try those two to get the answers to your questions.

i just used a link submission service. Not really impressed. most of the service does not guarantee your url listing in the directory. its been 10 days, the company submitted to 120 websites, only 50 directories accepted my listing at the moment.

4th media have guaranteed listing service but think it is more costly.

i am still looking for good link submission service.

I use Alfredo from here and have seen definite positive results on several domains, in terms of SERP. He is very courteous and easy to do biz with. His services are becoming a standard part of every new project for me.

Thanks, I will have to take a look at tunings service as well.
I just got about 370 submissions for $70 which included a report showing the url (category) where my link will appear if accepted. Did I get a good deal?

The most important question is was it worth it to you. I mean, I would go nuts submitting my site to 370 sites. I could do it and save the 70 but then again it is more fun to sit on my arse and let someone else do it.

Anyway - I think you did fine, unless you needed that 70 to pay the mortgage. :)

Yes, I guess the most important thing will be results. How many sites listed me? (for example)

I've tested a couple and so far I'm disappointed. The quality of the directories is poor and the acceptance rate isn't high enough. I know there are decent semi-automatic directory submission tools out there, so in theory it should be possible to provide a decent submission service.

The key for me is to have your own list of directories (and these lists will vary between sites/projects), and give that to the service provider. If they're good, they should take on the project on that basis.

I paid to ask some one to submit my sites to directories manually, and the outcome looks fine for me :)

A Directory Submission Service, in my opinion, is a company that will submit your websites to directories. Now, the client must be careful when selecting a company. Many I have seen say something along the lines of "We submit you to over 600,000 Search Engines and Directories". This statement alone lets me know that they are not trustworthy. We can all fire up ANY Free/shareware submitter and boast the same statement. What I LIKE to see, when checking my competition, is a listing of directories they will submit to. And, of course, no one can guarantee inclusion.

Anyone used 1ps.biz? Very cheap fees, so I'm wondering what the catch is. Would appreciate feedback from anyone who's used them.
